The group takes its name from the Atimevu drum of the Ewe people of Ghana. The word "atimevu' means drum made from a tree.

Instruments Used:   Gyl, Atenteben, Gakogui, Tokwe, Axatse, Atimevu, Sogo, Kidi, Kagan, Kroboto, Tsonshi, Gome, Tamali, and Djembe.
